Helms and Hall Honored with SHFBM Ted Heyward Award

On Friday, May 9th Food for Families founding Board Chairman Larry Helms and Current Board Chairman Tommy Hall were honored at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina (SHFBM) 2025 Partner Appreciation Awards and received the Ted Heyward Award.
This award represents ‘Compassion in Action’ and honors SHFB founding Board Member Ted Heyward. CEO, Kay Carter stated during the award presentation, “I’ve had the great fortune to know some wonderful people along the way, but I’ve never known two finer gentlemen in all my life as Tommy and Larry. They will tell you they’ve been friends forever and love each other like brothers, but they will also tell you they love the children and the families they serve.”
