Who We Are
Food for Families NC is a nonprofit organization located in Indian Trail, NC dedicated to alleviating hunger among families, children and seniors in Union and surrounding counties. Originally founded as Backpack Ministry, Inc. of First Baptist Church Indian Trail, our mission was to address the widespread need for weekend food assistance among students in local schools.
Since our inception in 2012, we have grown exponentially, transitioning from a small operation to an established nonprofit with our own facility, serving over 1,800 + each week. In addition to our highly successful weekend backpack program, FFF now participates in a government subsidized food program (TEFAP), hosts multiple monthly mobile drive through pantries, helps to stock a free food pantry at a local university, and provides small nutritional bags of food for seniors.
Through the generosity of donors, volunteers, and community partners, we provide nutritious food to thousands of families, children, and seniors each year. Food for Families is a proud partnering agency with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.
Join us in our mission to feed families and change lives. Your donation today can make a tangible difference in the lives of hungry children and families. Together, we can create a community where no one goes to bed hungry.
