Amy Niccolai, Executive Director for Food for Families, expressed gratitude stating, ‘Many seniors in our community struggle to afford enough to eat, much less purchase the items they need to live healthy and independent lives. The funds we received from the Union County Community Foundation will allow us to purchase items that are high in protein, while remaining low in sodium and sugar and will be delivered to seniors that have a limited income or are experiencing a current financial strain. We’re thankful to the local board of advisors that have selected Food for Families NC, Inc., for this incredible grant and we’re looking forward to making a difference in the lives of our local seniors.’
