2024 Impact: A Year of Growth and Generosity

As we reflect on 2024, we are humbled and grateful for the incredible strides Food for Families NC, Inc. has made in #feedingfamilies, #changinglives. This year has been a testament to the power of the unwavering support of our volunteers, donors, and community partners. Here’s a look at the remarkable impact we’ve achieved together:

Home Deliveries

We made 16,390 home deliveries, marking a 68% increase from last year. This growth highlights our commitment to reaching families who need our support the most.






Each week volunteer groups packed 1,500+ bags for school deliveries in our 3-county service area.

Backpack Program

Our Backpack Program distributed 56,997 bags, a 16% increase. These bags ensure that children have access to nutritious food over the weekends, supporting their health and academic success.

Mobile Pantry

Our Mobile Pantries served 4,335 families, an astounding 94% increase. This program brings essential food supplies directly to communities, making it easier for families to access the help they need.

Senior 65+ Bags

We provided 4,418 bags to seniors aged 65 and older, a 138% increase. Ensuring our seniors have nutritious food is a top priority, and we are thrilled to see this program grow.

Wingate University Pantry

The Wingate University Pantry supported 3,152 students, a 144% increase. College students often face food insecurity, and we are dedicated to helping them succeed by providing reliable access to food.












With the support of our community, we were able to provide 12 pallets of much needed food and supplies.

Western North Carolina Relief Effort

In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina, we-through generous community support-provided 12 pallets of supplies and food. This effort underscores our commitment to supporting communities in crisis.

Food Distributed

In 2024, we distributed over 1 million pounds of food for the first time in our organization’s history. This milestone is a significant achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication of volunteers.

Volunteers

Our success would not be possible without our incredible volunteers. In 2024, 5,596 volunteers contributed 9,546 hours of their time. They are the backbone of our organization.
